This Hatcheries Management and Operations Plan is the DDP fish propagation component the Renewal Corporation will implement as part of the Proposed Action. At the recommendation of the National Marine Fisheries Service and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Renewal Corporation will move hatchery operations to Fall Creek Fish Hatchery, replacing operations at Iron Gate Fish Hatchery. In addition to the information contained in this Hatcheries Management and Operations Plan, hatchery operations will be conducted in general accordance with regulatory authorizations, including but not limited to the National Marine Fisheries Service’s Biological Opinion for the Proposed Action and the Hatchery and Genetic Management Plan for Iron Gate Hatchery Coho Salmon or as amended.
The Renewal Corporation has prepared 16 Management Plans for FERC’s review and approval as conditions of a license surrender order. These Management Plans were developed in consultation with federal, state and county governments and tribes.
